How to Install a Garage Door

Installing a garage door helps to keep the security of your garage door and increases the value of your home.             Before beginning the installation, you have to arrange the equipment and materials, including Wrench set, Hammer, Drill, Bubble level, Step ladder, Safety glasses, Garage door, 8-foot wide by 7-foot high (four sections), Nails, 3-inch, and Shims. First of all, you have to remove all components of your garage door, such as metal hangers, guide tracks, cables, pulleys, and the spring. Inspect and prepare the opening by making sure that the opening is the right size of the door. The opening should be 8 feet wide by 7-foot high, and use the level to check the garage door header is level and that the sides are vertical.

The framing should not be damaged, and it should be two to six pieces of lumber, and the molding needs to be in good condition as well. Prepare the bottom door section by pulling out the bottom section and locating it downwards on blankets to avoid scratching it. Locate the two metal brackets by placing them on the left and right sides, then connect the metal brackets with the provided screws. Locate two of the hinges and attach them to the other long edge of the bottom door section. Now you have to install door sections by assembling all door sections in a certain door.

Lay the bottom door section, and if you find the garage floor unbalanced, then level out by placing a shim on one end. Tack the bottom section temporarily and attach the hinges to the second section’s long top edge. Stack the second section on the top of the first and attach and attach hinges from the top of the first section to the bottom of the second section. Continue the same practice and attach the door opener bracket kit to the top of the door. Attach reinforcement brackets and rollers, assemble vertical tracks and install vertical tracks. Attach horizontal track by supporting ends of horizontal tracks and attach rear track hanger to the garage ceiling, install springs and test the door.  If you are still confused about the process, contact Garage Door Suppliers Brunswick for further information.
